Boe
Pedigree: Big Rigg x Reasons Why
Boe is a big-time meat hog! Boe is out of one of our old sires, Bigg Rigg, who we purchased from one of the most outstanding red hog breeders, Howard Parish. Big Rigg sired the champion carcass at the Illinois State Fair, where we were awarded the Illinois Breeder Award. Boe is a deceiving bore. He looks moderate in frame size but is a big boa. He has a big barrel rib and is very correct in his skeleton. This boar grew like a weed with a huge appetite. Boe is a terminal sire who will create high-yielding carcasses with lean meat quality. His offspring will stay lean and take less time to get to a marketable weight. Use in confidence when breeding market hogs.
Wide Load
Pedigree: Reachout x Blitz x Job
Wide Load sired our Reserve champion carcass at the 2023 Illinois State Fair, with three others in the top ten. These Parish-bred hogs will harvest high-quality meat that is well-marbled yet lean, a most desired meat. Wide Load is what his name says —a truck is coming at you. He has a big square hip and hind leg when you view him from behind. This boar is chucked full of product. His rib is big and bold and has exceptional depth to the lower third of his body cavity. Wide Load has enhanced the quality and production of our meats. He is a proven sire of both gilts and market hogs. Wide Load is dual-purpose and highly fertile.
Luke
Pedigree: Here’s the Deal x Roger B
The first word I can think of when describing this boar is dense. Luke comes to us from the excellent sow herd of John Hiunker’s in Decorah, Iowa. Luke is an extremely heavy structured boar and is very clean-jointed for having that heavy of a skeleton. This is a very sure-footed, sound boar that is extremely flexible when on the move. Luke possesses a good round rib and drapes a long, correct muscle pattern over his massive skeleton. He is right in his hip and hind leg. He was purchased to enhance the heaviness of bone, maintain meat quality, and add maternal traits. Good hog!
